Why I Write

“If you’re thinking without writing, you only think you’re thinking.” — Leslie Lamport
The version I often misquote to myself: “Thinking without writing is just the illusion of thinking.”

Writing is the straightest path for me to discover what I truly believe. Putting thoughts down on the page forces me to confront gaps, contradictions, and flimsy logic I’d otherwise let persist. It often feels like a staring contest with ideas I don’t fully understand yet. I lose quite often.

I started this blog for myself. I’m writing publicly not for an audience or approval, but because I believe it will help me grow and get a bit closer to what is true.

My goal is not to convince you of anything. Instead, my hope is to slowly unearth clarity in the things that puzzle me daily. If I can explain an idea in a simple, clear way, then I will count that as a W and move on to the next topic.

If I can’t, I’ll know there is more work to do.
